Monday Blues is simply an understatement for my day today. I forgot to bring my phone. FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE.
I've never had such a suay day. Freaking shit shuttle service at Hougang turned me away despite me being early.
and that was the start of my chain of unfortunate events.
I ended up having to take a train to potong pasir and then I wanted to top up my farecard and my ezlink got STUCK IN THE FREAKING MACHINE.
I got "stuck" at the station for about ten minutes.
Then I wanted to go wait for the buses to school and [142] took forever to come and as I wasn't wearing a watch, I checked my ipod (thank goodness!!) and the time was 7.36am.
wtf my lesson was at 8am. I ended up having to cab.
$14.20.
I was damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn PISSED AT THE STINKING SHUTTLE SERVICE I WROTE A SUPER LONG COMPLAINT LETTER.
FUCKING SHIT I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO UPSET until I can rmb to write the complaint letter. Usually I just forget it by the time I get home.
Here's my complaint letter. curse their balls.
Hi,
It is with extreme displeasure at the service that prompted me to write this email.
This morning, I made my way from home in Punggol towards Hougang because I intended to take the shuttle service to school for an 8am tutorial. It was clearly written in the notification to arrive at least 5minutes before stipulated time to ensure we did not miss the bus. I did just that, and I actually arrived for the 7am bus at 6.51am which was way earlier that the 5-minutes before boarding time.
When I arrived, the 6.50am bus was at the berth but the driver and the two personnel in-charge were discussing something. After which the bus drove off. I proceeded to queue but about 5minutes after queuing, some students, including myself were turned away and told to take the public transport because they had reached the seating capacity of 40people allowed onboard.
From what I know, the last time I took the shuttle bus was when it was first implemented last semester and there were students allowed to stand onboard. Why is it now that we are turned away, when in actual fact, we were early for the bus.
What annoyed me the most was the two personnel in-charge actually turned us away after we queued for 5minutes. And the alternative was to take public transport instead. I hope you realise that as a resident of the north east area, every minute of the hour is crucial because of the distance we are from the school.
By the time I left the berth, it was 7am. I had to make my way to Potong Pasir where the trip took 10minutes including the waiting time. However, because of the last minute change in my route, I could not make it for the alternative "public transport" route and ended up taking a cab, which I presume, is labelled under "public transport" as well? My cab fare amounted to $14.20 when I could have paid nothing if I was allowed onboard for the shuttle bus.
However, I hope you realise just some of the reasons why students choose to take shuttle buses instead.
It is convenient as well as free-of-charge. As a student of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I should have every right to utilise this service and would like to stress that I had chosen to take the shuttle bus because it was cost-efficient, being FOC, and very convenient.
I was very boiled over the fact that I was turned away from the berth as well as an estimated ten other students. However, what made me more upset was when I arrived in class, I saw my classmate who lived in Punggol as well, in class earlier than me. In addition, he took the shuttle service which I was turned away from at 7am. He was one of those out the "TOP 40". The reason why he made it on the bus was because the personnel told him "he would have to stand".
The two in-charge at the berth did not mention to me that I could still wait for the bus if I did not mind standing on the bus for the whole journey. Why should there be such discrepancies and assumptions?
In any way, if there should be a quota as to how many students can sit on per ride, then please inform us beforehand that only the FIRST LUCKY 40 STUDENTS get this exclusive service.
Perhaps you can consider adding another bus for the 6.50am and 7am timeslots.
It was under the realisation that there are indeed quite a number of students in Ngee Ann Poly living in the north-east area that the shuttle service in Hougang was implemented. Then why is there only a bus fit for a mere 40 students per time slot? The queue can get immensely long during the above stated two timeslots as most lessons, if not all, begin at 8 or 9am.
I am utterly displeased with the alternative because I was not late, there was no reason to turn me and the other students away. I can only imagine how annoyed the 41st student must have felt when the line was cut just at him.
Even if I had made it on the bus within the "top 40", I would feel it was unfair to the other students if they were turned away because the remaining who did not "make the cut" could have easily stood on board the bus.
I hope you can take this into consideration and reinstate the main points that we consider when we choose the shuttle service over other modes of transport.
Thank You. I hope to hear a reply regarding this matter as soon as possible.
