Artiste & Repertoire Challenge 06/07 is officially over!
Team Revolution got 2nd Place! woohoooo.
I'm just glad the styling got the Best of the Best award.
At least, I know my efforts and skills...are award-worthy. That's all that matters.
I did not deliver a very good performance, and was less than excited after the performance and the 2nd place win although I was relieved it was over.
I was damn nervous about this performance when I discovered the stage was actually quite wide and I would need to come up with a performance instead of mere singing. At that point, I felt so worried and my heart weighed a ton. I couldn't let my team down. I didn't want to be the burden.
AND so, I decided to just give it my all and even did the twirl in the killer heels although I could have thrown my hat further LOL.
But at least I conquered a 1200 strong crowd. weee!
I always hope to give the best in terms of performance, and I'm really disappointed in myself for giving that less than perfect performance; especially when my friends and family had come to support me.
I will do better in future. After all, it is only with experience that you get to improve.
I was disappointed some friends couldn't turn up. Whether is it because I was not seen as important as I thought I was didn't matter. I would perform as long as ONE friend turns up. Because I will give what I can to those who matter.
Some may think this was just another competition; but it isn't.
It's a rather big event IMO.
The Press came, CNA with their crew, Tribune, albeit a school paper, but it's publicity after all. and LIME was here too.
Elim Chew of 77th Street, Stella Thng, Editor of LIME Magazine and Wu Jiaming, famous vocal coach were the judges.
I'm glad that they gave rather positive comments on the whole.
I have been more perplexed than happy after this event despite a smile being plastered on my face. I've been thinking about this event, the things that happened along the way.
I may seem really fussy during the choosing of the clothes and colours for the makeup; but hey, I know what works, and c'mon, it worked.
so, IMO, I have tried to be very tactful in giving my comments; all I want is a better image and ending.
and it's a good thing it turned out good.
so, I ask of a lot in terms of vocals and image.
I may seem like a bitch while discussing issues like this but HEY,
whoever's idea works, WINS.
roar.
you can label me as having 艺术家的臭批气 but...I don't give a damn as long what I propose is good.
Shawn even said I was a perfectionist in exasperation when I kept finding fault with the track. It's still not perfect until today and the competition is over already.
Perhaps I am asking of a lot from them; after all, we're not pros...yet.
but, what I feel is, if you can do better, why stop here?
WHY is he so easily contented?
DO NOT rest on your laurels.
For me, if it is an area of my expertise, I will make sure I can do it till it's the best I can deliver. It may not be the best in industry standards, but if it's the best that I can produce, then it's good enough.
know what I mean? haha.
Alright, enough of my rants. I'm still not satisfied though. But that's it for now.
pictures. as usual.
Last but not least...the Team Revolution that has come a long way since auditions/interview to the Preliminary Round to the Pre Grand Finals presentation and finally the Grand Finals Concert on 1st april 2007.
Kudos to everyone! We're a great team nonetheless.
